X-Class gets camper van conversions
Mercedes-Benz has revealed a spectacular camper van conversion for its brand new X-Class pick-up truck. The demountable cabin is built by bodybuilder Tischer and a separate concept with an integrated kitchen system by VanEssa mobilcamping.
The cabin has a sleeping area that is 1.5m wide and has headroom of almost 2m. In the kitchen there is a 3-burner gas stove as well as seating for up to three people. This seating area can also be converted into a second bed in just a few simple steps.
In addition to living and eating space, there is a fold-away wash basin and swivelling toilet unit – this integrated bathroom manages to offer enough space to take a shower
The second concept based on the X-Class has been developed by VanEssa mobilcamping, and gets a heavy-duty pull-out module from the rear load deck. Weighing just 250 kg the pull out draw has a coolbox, cooking and washing-up facilities as well as space for crockery and supplies. A second pull-out module offers even more space for further items. The load compartment is covered by a teak wood yacht-deck for water resistance. Special pneumatic struts allow the cover to be propped up at an angle of 45 degrees.
